My Inspiration
I can’t believe it’s been over 14 years since I became a Marriage Celebrant. Time flies when you’re doing something you love!
The inspiration came from my experience of my own wedding with my hubby, Graham. We knew we didn’t want a ‘cookie cutter’ wedding ceremony, so I wrote ours, especially for us. Our friends and family were so overwhelmingly positive, telling us afterwards that it was ‘the best wedding they’d ever been to’, it lit a fire in me. I realised I could help other couples have a totally unique experience on their own Wedding Day, and it set me on a completely new and exciting path in life.

Finding My Lane
I’d already taken a leap in my career journey to a different lane when I moved from being a ‘hands-on’ veterinarian to the corporate world of pet health several years earlier, so I knew anything was possible. And that’s the short story of how a Veterinarian switches gear and becomes a Wedding Celebrant.
With a background focused on caring for others and a love of creative writing and public speaking, I couldn’t think of a more perfect role to combine my passion and experience, than being a Marriage Celebrant. Add to that 13+ years of growth and experience in this role I love so much, and you’ll find I have got you covered, whatever your vision for your Wedding Day.

Pets and Kids and Weddings!
I just love it when my two worlds come together, and couples include their ‘fur kids’ in their wedding celebrations! Have you noticed how popular this has become in recent years? Particularly with the advent of pet care services that specialise in bringing and caring for your pets during your wedding. Such a great idea!
Being a mum to three kids 16 and under, I have first hand experience of what to expect from little ones in all sorts of situations. So, we can have a realistic chat about meaningful ways to involve children in your wedding ceremony… including having a plan B in mind (and maybe a plan C as well) for when things don’t go quite follow plan A.
These are just some teency examples of the many ways your wedding can be tailored to perfectly suit you, and I will go above and beyond to help you discover the possibilities, and work out what’s right for you.

Putting Things In Perspective
Each and every time I’m invited to be part of a someone’s wedding day, it’s an honour and a privilege for me. Every ceremony reminds me of just how important a Wedding Day is the scheme of a couple’s life.
I’m so blessed to have a role that encourages me to appreciate my own marriage of 18 years, and the family Graham and I have created together. Our three kids never cease to amaze us, and it makes me a very proud Mum to be able to share the joys of what I do with my family.
Our home in Samford Valley, surrounded by beautiful hills and trees, and kept constantly messy by the kiddos and fluff-balls, gives me the perfect spot to sit and create unique, handcrafted ceremonies… (Which is infinitely more fun than cleaning up after said kids and fluff-balls!)

I love living in Brisbane, but I am also happy to travel further afield to officiate weddings. So, whether you’re dreaming of a Brisbane wedding, a Sunshine Coast wedding, Gold Coast wedding, hinterland wedding, Maleny wedding, Toowoomba wedding, Scenic Rim wedding, Tamborine Mountain wedding – or anywhere your imagination takes you – let’s see if the stars (and our calendars!) align.
