Where do you Start Planning an Amazing Wedding?
Think back to that moment when you said ‘Yes’ to each other… ‘Yes, I will marry you’. ‘Yes, to a life with you’. ‘Yes, to all the things’. ‘Yes, to forever’.
That beautiful, life-changing moment set the course for one of the most important days in your life together; your Wedding Day.
Now picture yourself standing with the love of your life on your big day. The look in their eyes as you say your marriage vows. The excitement as you slip your wedding rings onto each other’s fingers. Those memories are going to stay with you forever. So, keep that vision in mind as you start planning your wedding.
And the key to making your day unforgettable? It all comes down to the people around you. Your Wedding Team.
If you surround yourself with fantastic wedding professionals – people who are focused on the two of you, and expert at what we do, we’ll bring it together seamlessly for you. Because amazing weddings don’t happen by chance; they are created.
Choosing the Right Celebrant for You
As for where to start, here’s a little tip… Put “Choose a Marriage Celebrant” right up there at the top of your list, because your celebrant will play a huge role in bringing your perfect wedding to life.
You want someone you ‘click’ with (because chemistry is a big deal), and who will take the time to get to know you as a couple and to understand your wedding goals (because authenticity is an even bigger deal.)
If your Marriage Celebrant radiates calm and professionalism and inspires confidence in you, you’re well on your way to an amazing Wedding Day, with a ceremony that celebrates who you are as a couple.
“Lorraine is the best wedding celebrant in Brisbane! She is utterly professional, incredibly accommodating and very, very caring. She set the tone for our wedding through her beautiful delivery of our ceremony. So many people commented that our wedding ceremony was the best they had ever attended as it truthfully portrayed the bride and groom through her expert storytelling and gentle touches of humour. Lorraine, we will forever be indebted to you.” – Hannah and Chase

Full-time Experienced Professional Celebrant
My “Why”
I can’t believe it’s been over 14 years since I became a Marriage Celebrant. Time flies when you’re doing something you love!
The inspiration came from my experience of my own wedding with my hubby, Graham. We knew we didn’t want a ‘cookie cutter’ wedding ceremony, so I wrote ours, especially for us. Our friends and family were so overwhelmingly positive, telling us afterwards that it was ‘the best wedding they’d ever been to’, it lit a fire in me.
That’s why, after several years of caring for animals as a Veterinarian and working in the corporate world of animal health, I embarked on a completely new path in life, helping other couples have a unique experience on their own Wedding Day.
With a background focused on caring for others and a love of creative writing, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate role to combine passion and experience, than being a Marriage Celebrant.
I love it when my worlds come together, and couples include their ‘fur kids’ in their wedding celebrations. And being a mum to two teens and a tween, I have first hand experience of what to expect from little ones in all sorts of situations. So, we can have a realistic chat about meaningful ways to involve children in your wedding ceremony… including having a plan B in mind (and maybe a plan C as well) for when plan A goes out the window!
These are just a couple of teency examples of the many ways your wedding can be tailored to perfectly suit you. You can be sure I’ll go above and beyond to help you discover the possibilities, and work out what’s right for you.
Each and every time I’m invited to be part of a Wedding Day, I’m truly honoured. Each Marriage Ceremony reminds me of just how important this day is, in the scheme of a couple’s life. It’s the beginning of a whole new chapter in their love story.
Ours began 18 years ago, and Gra and I are still adding pages. Our home is in Samford Valley, surrounded by beautiful hills and trees, and kept constantly messy by three kids, one rescue dog, and two adorably fluffy cats. It gives me the perfect spot to sit and create one-of-a-kind, handcrafted ceremonies… infinitely more fun than cleaning up after said kids and fluff-balls! 🙂
I travel all over Brisbane and beyond to officiate weddings. So, whether you’re dreaming of a Brisbane wedding, a Sunshine Coast wedding, Gold Coast wedding, hinterland wedding, Maleny wedding, Toowoomba wedding, Scenic Rim wedding, Tamborine Mountain wedding – or anywhere your imagination takes you – let’s see if the stars (or at least our calendars!) align.

When Plan B becomes Plan A
by Lorraine Wright – The Wright Celebrant
Last Thursday, I met a beautiful young couple, and on Saturday, I married them!
Things don’t normally move that fast, but with the recent border closure, it was time to put the wedding contingency plan in action! I stepped in for a Celebrant who was unable to travel from northern New South Wales to Brisbane for the ceremony. He briefed me and forwarded the legal prep-work, then I took the ball and ran with it. What transpired felt like it was always meant to be that way!

I’ve put together my top tips, plus some from a few other fab wedding professionals, to help you ‘keep calm and get married’ on a stinking hot day.
